The Dhela area of Jim Corbett National Park, a 70-square-kilometer forest zone opened for tourism eleven years ago as 2025, is renowned for having seen seven tiger sightings in its 75-year history. The salt marsh forest, with its vast grasslands—a favorite hunting ground for tigers—and a watchtower that provides a good viewing point for wildlife from afar, makes Dhela a popular tourist destination. Birds like the Peregrine Falcon, Black Kites, and Pale Harriers are frequently seen here. Compared to other areas of Jim Corbett National Park, the tigers here are larger and heavier. Wild animals can be viewed on jeep safaris. These jeep safaris operate twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.

This area is 20 kilometers from Ramnagar. The Dhela area, part of the Corbett National Park's jungle safari, recorded the second-highest number of tiger sightings after the Dhikala area during the 2019/2020 season. Safaris in Dhela are in high demand, especially due to the limited availability of jeep safari permits. Tigers are often spotted at the entrance to Dhela, confirming their presence in the area.

According to a previous press release from the Corbett Park Department, two new trails have been recommended for construction in the Dhela forest. Completion of these trails next year will significantly increase tiger sightings. Fifteen more jungle safaris are planned with the opening of the new trails.
